I have many names, but none to really call myself. I like nicknames. They just help with my flipfloppy indecisive nature.
While I may not be as super macho as Gaston, I do identify as male. It's not necessarily something I try to press on other people (particularly in public-- I'm very feminine looking) I can respect differing opinions but I'd like it if you could at least keep it in the back of your mind when referring to me with gender-specific pronouns. It's a big part of who I am, for some reason, even though I don't think gender is really "a big deal" in most cases; I don't view or judge people based on their gender (or anything else like that). But to me... I'm a boy. If that bothers you, I understand. But it won't change me.
The name I picked for myself is Ciaran (or Ciarán, but I'm not sure if I want the accent there). It's an Irish name, and is the male version of my birth name.
